    There was a time... can serve as a teaching aid for  K-12 instruction.  We conform to the learning goals of  national standards in History,  Music and Economics. 

  Our living history impersonations brings a live presentation to your site, where an historically attired character from the past interacts with the audience as a person from that time period. This is not just a theatrical monologue, but a combination of theatrical technique and improvisation mingled with detailed knowledge of the time period being covered.  This character will respond to questions as a character from the past who does not yet now how the future will unfold.

    Following the presentation, there is a 10 or 15 minute question and answer session where the presenter returns to his 21st century self and provides details and insights about the period that the historic character would not have known.

    Musical presentations are performed with authentic antique or reproduction instruments.  For certain presentations a modern instrument may be introduced for purposes of comparison.

     Story telling can be performed in your choice of either historical or modern attire.
