John Salicco:  Biographical Information

There was a time... LLC is the creation of John Salicco "living history" enthusiast, musician, edu-tainer* and story teller.  Originally trained in the classical theatre, Mr. Salicco holds two certificates in Theatre Arts from the Banff School of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada.  Having been side-tracked in Corporate America for  over 15 years in Data Communications and 10 years in Finance, John has recently returned to more creative pursuits.

Making and playing replica 19th Century banjos, John has over the years, been active in many historic restoration and reenactment programs at places such as Sutter's Fort, Petaluma Adobe, Fort Ross and Columbia State Historic Park in California.  A regular story teller and performer at the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum, in Tacoma, WA, he currently sits as a director on the board of the Fort Nisqually Foundation. Mr. Salicco is currently a speaker for the State of Washington 2007-2008 Inquiring Mind Program**.

For almost thirty years in his spare time, as a docent, historical reenactor, guest lecturer, musician and craftsman, he has performed before literally thousands of people.  As an outdoorsman, he has retraced many historic North American trade routes and wilderness trails.  John strives to infuse local content and relevance in all of his presentations.  "A Canadian transplant by way of California... John Salicco is a history buff's history buff, who has absorbed more of the lore of this place in six years than most people who were born here will likely learn in a lifetime."  Tacoma News Tribune, Sept 7, 2004.

**Inquiring Mind is a program of Humanities Washington.
